What are the responsibilities and job description for the FSG UAS Pilot-in-Command/Mission Commander position at American Aerospace Technologies?
UAS Pilot is responsible for operating an unmanned aerial system (UAS). As Pilot-in-command (PIC), the individual will need to supervise or operate the UAV. This includes mission planning, mission sensor/payload operations, launching, remotely piloting, and recovering the aerial vehicle. The PIC will additionally conduct safety tests, oversee vehicle performance, and assess drone systems’ capabilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
– This position may plan, assign, or supervise the work of others. This position may also function as an assistant to the section manager or as a team leader
Duties/Responsibilities:
– Check UAS before a flight to ensure safe and proper operation
– Analyze weather forecasts to ensure safe flights
– Document pre- and post-flight logs
– Monitor drones during flight
– Ensure UAS safety and FAA regulations are observed at all times
– Plan drone flight routes
– Navigate drones along designated paths
– Gather information or produce aerial photographs as needed
– Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
– Traveling 50% of the year
– Setting up and breaking down equipment at different locations
– Other duties assigned

Education and Experience:
– This position requires a bachelor’s degrees
– Commercial Pilot License or 1000 hours UAS Operation
– Certified in Piccolo Autopilot
Physical Requirements:
– Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
– Must be able to lift up to 75lbs at times.
