What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator I position at American Air Filter International?
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Operates a hot melt machine to produce filter packs. Makes adjustments to the machine to ensure quality production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up the machine for automatic operation.
- Selects the correct media and loads rolls onto the machine.
- Adds hot melt to the machine and adjusts hot melt settings.
- Reads a Z-drawing and shop packet to determine filter requirements.
- Makes modifications to CNC programs.
- Uses hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers to change rollers.
- Uses a measuring tape to determine the correct size of the finished filter pack.
- Inspects filter packs for damages or defects.
- Places completed packs in frames.
- May assist in filter assembly.
- Rejects filter packs that do not meet quality standards.
- Reads and interprets order numbers to make sure the correct type of filter pack is made.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience with using hand tools is required.
- Measuring skills to 1/16 is required.
- Be able to identify different types of media by comparing style numbers.
- Basic mechanical skills to be able to remove and replace rollers.
