What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preventive Maintenance Tech_2nd shift _M-Th(3:30pm-2:00am) position at American Air Filter International?
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and direction from the Maintenance Scheduler, the P.M. Technician performs scheduled preventive maintenance to all pieces of equipment for the plant.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all production equipment as assigned by the Maintenance Scheduler.
- Identifies potential failures in the equipment and makes corrections to prevent future failure.
- Use power and hands tools to complete assigned maintenance task and work orders.
- Conduct quality assessments, maintenance inventory and scheduling repairs
- Detect malfunctions through observation (sound and visual)
- Run diagnostics test to ensure system functionality
- Performs emergency repairs
- Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs
- Align and calibrate machine parts
- Monitor and report on projects progress
- Documents all parts used and work done to the equipment on a P.M. log. This is turned in to the Maintenance Scheduler.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years work history in an industrial maintenance setting.
- General working knowledge of Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Mechanical systems. Electrical experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in hot or cold environments.
- Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
