This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is primarily responsible for providing sympathetic and compassionate assistance to beneficiaries and estate representatives for accounts of deceased members as part of the Member Care team. This role will also entail limited administrative duties to support the SVP Operations and other Operations Team leaders and departments.
What you'll do
- Communicate with deceased members’ loved ones to ascertain how the account will be transferred or settled and offer assistance with any account transactions
- Originate and update records for new deceased notifications and assign to MSR staff
- Notify and work with appropriate departments in charge of products held by deceased accounts
- Consult with Legal Department concerning questions about certain documentation or legal beneficiaries to the account
- Collect mail from centralized mailroom and distribute and / or archive documents received to appropriate files
- Assist MSR staff with gathering appropriate documents and researching online for pertinent information
- Open new Shares, Checking and estate accounts for bereaved family and assist with the transfer of existing deceased account numbers when applicable
- Assist Branch staff with bereaved family members
- Answer incoming ACD calls
- Support the SVP Operations and other Operations Team leaders and departments with administrative assistant duties (e.g., scheduling meetings, coordinate catering for meetings / recognition events, ordering stationery and supplies for Operations Team, presentation or graphing assistance; work with other Administrative Assistants when requested on Board of Directors / other key meeting logistics)
- Perform other duties as assigned
- The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his / her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
