What you'll do
- Apply instructional design theory along with learning technology expertise to create learning solutions that engage our diverse Team Member base.
- Create effective and engaging multimedia training specifically crafted to support business goals.
- Deliver a variety of design strategies including eLearning, ILT, scenario-based activities, self-paced learning, etc. to ensure learning objectives are met.
- Contribute to training strategies by evaluating training curricula, recommending future learning solutions.
- Apply rapid development skills as needed, while ensuring effective training solutions.
- Conduct needs assessments utilizing learner and business data to determine training gaps.
- Bring a collaborative consultative approach with internal customers when designing and developing.
- Create assessments that accurately measure learning effectiveness, using learning methodologies.
- Apply organization, urgency and project management skills including utilization of project management software like Smartsheet's, to meet deadlines.
- Identify additional training needs by uncovering areas of opportunity using available data in the business (e.g., audit data, help desk calls, customer complaints, operations dashboards, etc.).
- Maintain currency with instructional design, learning technology and industry trends.
- Peer-mentor other instructional designers throughout the training development process.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
- At least 3 years of experience applying relevant learning technology tools including authoring, video editing, microlearning, and other multimedia learning tools (i.e. Articulate, Vyond, PremierPro, etc.)
- At least 3 years of experience applying instructional design to performance-based training
- At least 2 years of technical writing experience applying training methodologies
- At least 2 years working under rapid development
- At least 2 years of project management with strong deadlines / consultative approach to training design
Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience Intro
- Master’s degree or degree in Education or Instructional Design
- Knowledge of airline operations
- Experience working with SumTotal/ American Airlines Learning Management System (LMS)
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodologies (ADDIE, Kirkpatrick, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy, etc.)
- Demonstrate a passion for learning, high adoption to change, and acute attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, strong consultative skills, highly approachable
- Ability to assess training needs, manage data, present learning outcomes
- Ability to work independently as well as demonstrate team spirit
- Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization both verbal and written
