Responsible for both traditional and cloud based infrastructure implementations based on designs from infrastructure architects
What you'll do
Provides good understanding of concepts related to server load balancing, WAS clustering, and other application scaling concepts
Troubleshoots and resolves middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments
Encourages an environment of sharing and team work among the team.
Stays current with systems technology best practices and changing technologies, in order to maintain domain expertise and recommend enhancements or changes
Supports communication and response process by responding to users on system issues, maintenance, and system status, and advising and escalating on any prolonged or major issues
Understands Windows Active Directory, including DNS and Group Policies
Provides guidance to lower-level technicians and assists when and where necessary
Travels, as required
Mandatory rotational schedule for on-call off-hours support

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS / MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience / training
3 years of experience as a network or infrastructure engineer or administrator
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS / MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience / training
5 years of experience as a network or infrastructure engineer or administrator
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Advanced ability to plan strategically for current and future business environments, including future technology and business design changes to create flexible, scalable solutions
In-depth knowledge of IT business operations, systems requirements, and processes
Demonstrated experience in the following :
IBM MQ
VMware environments – vSphere, VCSA, vROPS, LogInsight & vRA
Hyper-V environments (2008, 2012 and 2016) & Live MigrationUnix and Windows environments
Installing and managing Windows Server (2008, 2012, and 2016), Microsoft SQL, Microsoft IIS and Microsoft Active Directory
TCP / IP networks and full understanding of all layers of the OSI model
Cisco / Dell / Sonicwall networking solutions including routers, firewalls, VPN tunnels, switches, gateways, access devices, wireless access points, etc.
TCP / IP, DNS, FTP / SFTP, SMTP, SMB, DHCP, Cisco, LAN, WAN, and WLAN
Dynatrace, VMware Log Insight and VMware vROPS
Hands-on experience with writing PowerShell scripts
Ability to analyze complex problems and implement solutions and / or workarounds
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge
Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
Proficiency in Agile project management methodology, specifically within infrastructure area
