This job is within the American Airlines Credit Union. The role is responsible for departmental projects, metrics, etc., often in partnership with the department manager, and also performs daily functions associated with check operations, dispositioning, processing, reconciling and ensuring compliance on all check transactions for the Credit Union.
What you'll do
- Lead departmental projects, often in partnership with supervisor
- Research and analyze potential initiatives to streamline and automate departmental processes
- Develop and maintain departmental metrics
- Create, revise, test and maintain department policies and procedures to ensure strict compliance of Reg CC and other Federal Banking laws
- Complete operational work processing checks, items, returns, etc. (approximately 50-70% of work time spent)
- Coordinate return items with members, outside vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank and other institutions
- Assist other departments with check resolution, member inquiries and related accounting general ledger balancing
- Log, balance, research and make necessary GL, account adjustments and / or returns
- Process stop pays and check batching
- Complete daily balancing and branch closing
- Understand and be familiar with Federal Reserve and Catalyst software and processes around checks, with the ability to troubleshoot anomalous issues
- Participate or lead in the training of new departmental employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
- The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his / her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
