Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical components, including compressors and sub-assemblies, using a variety of hand and power tools. You will follow schematics, diagrams, and instructions to ensure accuracy and quality while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This position may require standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical units and sub-assemblies using standard hand, power, and air tools.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly.
- Align and position components manually or with hoists as required.
- Verify that all necessary parts are available and communicate shortages to the supervisor.
- Maintain high-quality standards and adhere to company specifications.
- Rotate between different production areas and assist as needed.
- Fill in for absent co-workers within the department when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure all components are properly fitted and secured.
- Perform quality checks, interpret measurements, and reject any defective materials.
- Report errors, defects, and quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Uphold workplace safety standards and follow company procedures.
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, OR at least one (1) year of experience in assembly or mechanical trade work.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions a plus.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools such as tape measures, scales, and squares.
- Familiarity with standard hand, power, and air tools, with the ability to operate them safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Effective communication skills in English.
