Summary of duties and responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following: responsible for the installation/service of electronic communications equipment under the direction of a licensed technician. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by American Alarm and Communications, Inc, while assuring a professional and safe working environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the licensed technician in the completion of the physical installation/service of an alarm system including final hookup for new jobs.
• Assist the licensed technician performing routine inspections of intrusion and fire alarm systems under direct supervision to ensure that system components are operating correctly.
• Pulling of electronic cable through and along ceiling and walls: may require crawling.
• Must be able to work in confined and small areas.
• Job requires reading, speaking, writing, and taking verbal instructions. Must be able to respond to audible and visual signals indicating that the system is functioning properly.
• Must have Driver’s license and own transportation.
• Regular attendance must be maintained.
• Other duties as required or assigned by company management.
• Must be able to obtain Massachusetts security clearance.
Physical Activities/Requirements
- Ability to use equipment to perform the job: Ladder, company vehicle, hand tools, (I.E. screwdriver, drill, meters, telephone headset, soldering iron, pipe bender, hilti gun etc.) telephone, lift, and adding machine.
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
