Job Summary:
We are a growing, fast paced metal fabrication company in the Spokane Valley seeking an Assistant Sawyer to join our team. The Assistant Sawyer will be responsible for operating sawing equipment to cut, trim, or shape metal materials according to specifications.

Duties:
- Operate and set up saws to position and cut various types of metal bar, rods and tube with precision and accuracy
- Read and interpret blueprints or work orders to determine cutting requirements
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet quality standards using a tape measure, calipers and a T-square
- Install blades, set guide bars and stops, maintain and clean equipment
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes

Experience:
- Prior experience in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in using calipers, T-square, measuring tape and other measuring tools
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery
- Ability to operate forklifts safely within a warehouse environment
- Skills in fabricating components effectively

Physical Demands:

This job requires team member to be in good general health with good balance, agility, and vision abilities. Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Usual and customary methods of performing this job’s functions require the following physical demands: lifting (25 – 50 pounds regularly), standing (up to 10 hours), carrying, pushing, reaching and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stopping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant manual dexterity.

The job is performed under temperature variations and some hazardous conditions. Team member regularly works near moving mechanical parts, works with broad range of electrical tools, and exposed to potential risk of electrical shock for which several safety precautions are mandatory. Safety gear and clothing is required, including but not necessarily limited to, safety shoes, eye protection, safety gloves, protective apparel and where applicable, a face shield.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
