The successful applicant will have a hybrid or remote work arrangement, but must reside within a 125-mile radius of the AAA's office located in Downtown Manhattan. The starting salary range for the position is $159,000 - $168,000, plus an annual incentive opportunity targeting up to 20% of the base salary.
Overview
This pivotal position will be responsible for establishing, building, and managing the PMO within the IS department, including overseeing the creation and implementation of PMO standards, methodologies, and governance structures to support successful project delivery of key IS initiatives. The AVP will lead the PMO in aligning project and program efforts with the organization’s business goals, ensuring effective prioritization, resource management, and delivery of key IT initiatives. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with extensive experience in project management, proven success in building PMO functions, and the ability to drive complex projects to successful completion within a dynamic organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Mature the PMO :
- Design, implement, and manage the PMO, including developing its charter, mission, and objectives in alignment with organizational goals.
- Define PMO objectives and governance frameworks, project management standards, methodologies, and processes to ensure consistency and efficiency in project execution.
- Drive the adoption of project management best practices, tools, and methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery.
- Develop templates, documentation standards, and reporting mechanisms to support project delivery and decision-making.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role establishing or managing a PMO. PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certifications preferred. Agile and Scrum certifications are a plus.
