The Orvis School of Nursing seeks a dynamic and highly skilled Nurse Scientist with an established record of clinical scholarship to drive impactful clinical research, advance nursing outcomes in acute and subacute care, and foster interprofessional scholarship within a tertiary care academic practice partnership. This role integrates clinical expertise with innovative research to enhance patient outcomes and nursing practice through evidence-based approaches.
The Nurse Scientist primarily focuses on undergraduate nursing students' education while contributing to graduate and doctoral programs. By delivering direct instruction and mentorship and integrating cutting-edge research into undergraduate curricula, they lay a strong foundation for students to bridge theory and practice effectively. This role is a cornerstone in the Orvis School of Nursing's commitment to advancing nursing science and improving patient care through research, innovation, and interprofessional collaboration. The faculty will provide leadership to the Center for Nursing Outcomes Research within the Office of Research and Innovation.

Required Qualifications
- PhD in nursing, clinical research, or other relevant research-focused doctoral preparation. A graduate degree in nursing (PhD, DNP, or MSN) is required.
- Minimum of five yrs of acute care nursing exp.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nevada or eligible for licensure in Nevada.
- Proven success in grant writing, with a preference for securing and managing NIH, PCORI, or similar funding sources.
