The Executive Associate Dean, serving as the Chief Operating Offi cer, oversees operationalfunctions to execute the strategic plan and achieve the school’s mission and goals. As a member ofthe Dean’s senior leadership team, the Executive Associate Dean ensures operational effi ciencyby developing, designing, operating, and improving systems for full strategic plan execution.Collaboration with SON leadership is essential. The Executive Associate Dean may act on behalfof the Dean as delegated. This full-time, 12-month, non-tenured faculty position at the Associateor Professor rank begins in summer 2025 or later. Applicants with advanced practice certification arewelcome.

Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in nursing or a health-related field
- Academic administrative experience with increasing responsibility
- Organizational and program planning experience
- Experience with strategic planning and implementation
- Minimum five years of teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
- Curriculum development and revision experience
- Experience with accreditation self-study and report preparation for Nursing boards,accreditors, and regulatory agencies
- Ability to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion through teaching, research, and service
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Eligible for RN licensure in DC and Virginia
- Serves as a liaison between academic and administrative functions of the SON, identifyingresources and addressing obstacles for strategic plan implementation.
- Cascades the school’s mission statement throughout the school for maximal alignment anddevelops appropriate recognition and coaching practices to align personnel with schoolgoals.
- Drives performance measures for the operation of the strategic plan, often in the form ofdashboards convenient for review of high-level key indicators.
- Ensures SON policies comply with laws, regulations, and university policies.
- Facilitates operations of the Associate Deans for Prelicense/Baccalaureate programs,Graduate Clinical programs, PhD program, and the Associate Deans for Practice andCommunity Engagement, Research and Health Policy & Population Science.
- Works with the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Finance Manager, and HR partnerson resource management and unit budget development.
- Collaborates with other SON leaders on pertinent issues and activities that span thetripartite mission.
- Participates with campus academic offi cers to develop university-wide priorities andinterdisciplinary programs; serves on relevant committees and councils.
