The Coordinator manages the day-to-day activities of the Health Learning Resource Center, including supervising students in skills practice, demonstration, simulation, and remediation, and is responsible for working with faculty to integrate simulation into the curriculum. Additional responsibility includes maintaining an inventory of Nursing and Basic Nurse Assistant supplies and equipment and ensuring ongoing compliance with OSHA standards of safety rules and regulation inventory.

Experience: One to three years of experience in simulation and lab teaching, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.
Knowledge: Knowledge of effective, safe laboratory utilization procedures and familiar with record maintenance protocols and procedures. Previous experience with simulated manikins and knowledge of computerized simulation in a lab environment is required; if needed, training will be provided at the expense of the college. Working knowledge of traditional computer software (e-mail, MSWord, etc.).
Skills: Must be able to function independently. Ability to prepare and organize simulation laboratory and demonstration materials. High degree of organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student.

Responsibilities
- Establishes practices and procedures for laboratory and simulation activities that provide for effective learning experiences, safe practice, and are in accordance with program policies, course objectives, and program outcomes.
- Prepare the appropriate rooms for lab and simulation experiences including manikins and all materials needed for laboratory and simulations.
- As needed, perform pre-lab activities, assist with lab activities, and perform post-lab activities.
- Ensure supervision of students in the lab, maintaining safe practices and abiding by all established policies and procedures for the lab.
- Provides training for all full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and student tutors and for the nursing and simulation labs.
- Collaborates with faculty to develop simulation scenarios that support course learning outcomes.
- Appropriately integrates lab operations among programs to obtain maximum efficiency and moderate student costs.
- Conducts or provides for regular maintenance and repair of patient simulators, manikins, and all other laboratory equipment on a scheduled basis.
- Provides input to the Chairs and Coordinators for the continued development of departmental budgets, including recommendations for equipment purchases to maintain standards essential for effective instruction.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies to support all instruction in the labs.
- Provide weekly reports of activities, simulation schedule, etc. to the Dean.
- Other duties as assigned.
