Salary Range:    $52,000.00 - $60,000.00 Salary/year

Description

This position is considered Hybrid with an expectation to be in the Rosemont, IL office 1-3 times a month for All Staff Meetings, trainings, and department meetings. The compensation for this role will be based on experience within the given range on the job posting. 

SUMMARY

The Fundraising Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of fundraising efforts and campaigns, Foundation meeting presence at national meetings, coordination of fundraising volunteers (Advocates, Fundraising Committee members), fundraising events, and other fundraising efforts conducted by AANA Foundation. This position involves collaborating with team members to develop and implement campaigns, engage donors, and promote the Foundation’s mission to increase engagement.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Fundraising (40%)

  • Assist in planning, creating, and executing creative fundraising campaigns and events to encourage giving and raise awareness.
  • Assist in donor and prospect outreach, solicitation, and cultivation.
  • Process gifts, acknowledgements, and donor/member donation records for accuracy in future fundraising efforts.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify potential donors and sponsors.
  • Maintain donor database and accurate records of fundraising activities and donor interactions to evaluate efforts and data-mine prospects.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of fundraising materials including proposals, reports, and presentations.

Marketing (15%)

  • Support marketing strategies to promote campaigns, events, and initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of website, microsites, and giving software content to support an effective online presence.

AANA Meetings (25%)

  • Provide staff support for Foundation activities and presence at AANA national meetings, workshops, and other associated events/activities as assigned.
  • Travel to national AANA meetings as assigned (1-3 times annually).

Volunteer Coordination (10%)

  • Collaborate with volunteers to maximize fundraising efforts.
  • Manage Advocate program(s) while providing guidance and fulfilling requests.

Administrative (10%)

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks related to fundraising and marketing.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy files.
  • Maintain Foundation database with current and accurate information.
  • Assign account numbers and processes invoices.
  • Respond to correspondence, calls, and emails related to fundraising and marketing in a professional and courteous manner or route inquiries to appropriate staff members.

Qualifications


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Experience:

  • Fundraising, marketing, and administrative work, internship, or volunteer experience required.
  • Experience with a non-profit or professional organization preferred.
  • Membership/customer database experience preferred.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and independent decision-making abilities.
  • Prior entry level experience and knowledge of fundraising and marketing principles.
  • Collaborative team player who is creative, tech-savvy, detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and ethical.
  • Demonstrated past ability to establish and maintain a harmonious and productive work environment while working effectively with a wide variety of interpersonal styles.

Skills:

  • Adept at learning new computer programs such as SharePoint and Aptify.
  • Critical and creative thinking.
  • Ability to multi-task concurrently, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to proof, analyze and interpret data and report findings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and exhibits a proactive approach and a strong drive to achieve excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Education/Certification/Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fundraising, communications, marketing, English, business, public relations, nonprofit management, or similar field of study.
