Job Description
- Supports development & processing of bevel and cylindrical gears for various automotive and commercial applications to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced prototype lab environment.
- Works closely with the design and application group to specify gear development requirements, quality levels, performance levels and program scheduling
- Sets up, programs, and operates Gear Development Center machines and inspection equipment to produce parts for various prototype programs.
- Assists in evaluating and recommending new equipment, processes, and software.
- Participates in product design/development review meetings.
- Assists production facilities with troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
- Assist benchmarking and performing competitive gear analysis requests.
- Participates and assists with PPAP's and new product launches at domestic and international facilities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Thorough understanding of typical metal part processing tooling, machines, machine set ups, operation, and prints.
- Proficient in setting up (programming, tooling, etc.) and operating gear processing machines.
- Experience with gear evaluations using CMMs and other inspection equipment.
- Familiarity with gear processing equipment.
- Experience in gear design software.
- Ability to travel up to 30% U.S. & International.
- Available to work overtime if required.
