Job Summary: American Bank’s Retail Market Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service at both Bozeman retail branches. They will direct the efficient, effective management of full-service retail branch offices, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed with the customer experience guiding all decisions. They are expected to manage all Bozeman retail staff, directly and indirectly and participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training. The Retail Market Manager is also a resource for retail branch procedures and mentorship across the organization. They represent American Bank at the community level, engaging in civic and service club functions.

Primary Responsibilities:
Retail Market Manager
- Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by providing excellent customer experiences.
- Demonstrate skills, behaviors, and attitudes consistent with the vision, values and beliefs of American Bank, presents a professional image, models high performing levels of motivation, performance and personal integrity.
- Participate and develop initiatives that deepen relationships with existing customers.
- Direct and coordinate activities of personnel involved in providing customer service, performing retail operations, and driving internal sales of the branch.
- Direct responsibility for sales activity and customer service standards.
- Understand and speak knowledgably regarding bank products including all electronic offerings, cash management, mobile banking, IntraFi deposit products, merchant services and credit cards.
- Ensure the facilities, buildings and surrounding areas are kept clean, well maintained, and presentable to customers and employees.
- Ensure that security training and key inventory is properly delegated and well managed.
- Responsible for the overall deposit products and retail loan sales efforts of the branch.
- Responsible for making productive outside sales calls promoting customer retention and new business prospects.
- Process and oversee technical tasks such as scheduling branch personnel, opening and closing of the branches, overdraft monitoring, and monitoring branch controls.
- Maintain a presence and the ability to step in and work as a Universal Banker or Teller when necessary to assist staff.
- Responsible for training of branch personnel in coordination with the Training Coordinator and maintaining all Retail Branch Procedures.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to review and address operational issues, discuss procedure changes, and assess practices requiring attention.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of retail branch staff.
- Regularly represent the bank at community events.
- Retain good understanding of the core banking system and ancillary systems such as Onboard, Vertex, Xperience.
- Evaluate staff performance and provide recommendations for salary adjustments, disciplinary actions up to termination when necessary.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure departmental compliance with applicable regulatory laws and requirements.
- Satisfactorily complete all required bank training.
- Other duties as designated by management.
Competencies:

Education and Experience:
- Required
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5-7 years retail banking experience, including 3-5 years supervisory experience.
- Preferred
- Previous experience with Jack Henry core solutions and related products including Xperience, Synergy, 4|Sight, Vertex Teller, NetTeller, Onboard Deposits, iPay and ProfitStars.
- Prefer 3-5 years supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Accredited ACH Professional and Certified Treasury Professional certifications preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct reports: Bozeman Assistant Branch Manager (1)
- Indirect Reports: Bozeman Retail Staff (~10)
Working Conditions:
- Work environment is indoors in a clean atmosphere with normal noise levels.
- Ability to work under time constraints and pressure is required.
- Exposed to a potentially hazardous condition – robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the risk.
- Normal hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00AM – 5:00 PM and as needed during Branch Operating hours of 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
Physical Requirements:
- Critical sensory abilities are seeing, hearing/listening, touching, and speaking.
- Physical dexterity requirements include operating general office equipment such as telephone, computer, calculator, photocopier, and postage machine. Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Mental effort requirements include reading, writing, basic arithmetic, mathematics, visualizing conclusions, analyzing data, searching for solutions, creating methodologies, conducting research, and managing resources.
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods when providing customer service, sitting, walking and must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. waist high and 20 lbs. shoulder high.
Travel Requirements:
- I understand that even though my primary work assignment will be in my main branch; I agree to go to any other location requested by management. I understand that such temporary re-assignment will require the use of my personal vehicle. If I am requested to spend the entire day at a non-primary location, American Bank will pay for my time spent traveling which is inclusive from the time I leave my home to the time I return to my home. In addition, any time that I use my personal vehicle in such travel, I understand that American Bank will reimburse my mileage at the current designated IRS mileage reimbursement rate.
