Description
JOB PURPOSE: Acts as a front-line ambassador for the department and conference center, representing a high standard of excellence serving guests with a professional, friendly and positive attitude and puts guest requests first.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, clean up and service all serving/buffet lines for meals.
- Work with the kitchen staff to monitor food production for serving areas.
- Be knowledgeable and answer guest inquiries regarding food choices.
- Ensure that hot food is hot and cold food is cold.
- Wash, dry, fold and put away kitchen/dining room rags and aprons.
- Anticipate and tend to guest needs.
- Adhere to all sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Communicate with kitchen staff and other staff.
- Communicate incident, needs, or issues to immediate supervisor.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
In addition to collaborating with other staff, the Buffet Line Server will work closely with the Dining Services Assistant Director and the Dining and Catering Services Director as well as other department directors, volunteers, guests, and work groups.
WORK SCHEDULE
Part-time, 29.5 hours per week or full-time, 40 hours per week including weekends, evening, and holidays.
Qualifications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General kitchen and dining room environment with mostly indoor work but some outdoor work

A fast-paced, high-volume environment

Stand, walk, remain on feet, and perform job duties for entire shift duration and lift up to 30 pounds.
