We are currently looking to add a Quality Assurance Specialist to our team in South Boston, VA. This role is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality and regulatory standards through inspections testing, and process monitoring. This role involves working closely with production, engineering and compliance teams to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.
- Document and report quality issues, deviations, and non-conformances, ensuring timely resolution.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control procedures and standards.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify root causes of defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, including inspection results and corrective actions.
- Support training initiatives to educate employees on quality policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Analyze quality data and generate reports to support process improvements.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement in quality initiatives.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and auditing procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in quality control or related manufacturing roles.
- Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing facility, including exposure to production equipment, materials, and processes.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
