Job Summary
The Production Operator Lead will lead the operators to assemble and produce products to meet customer requirements and expectations. The Lead is responsible for overseeing, conducting and training operators on hands-on assembly, debugging, and verification of modules and battery pack systems. The Production Operator Lead is charged with leading operators in the launch and assembly of new products.
Responsibilities
- Assembly products to customer requirements and company goals.
- Perform collection of downtime and production records for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Assign operators to workstations with rotation during shift.
- Lead inventory of manufacturing area.
- Reports production problems to Production Supervisor.
- Perform Preventive maintenance activities to support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Support Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) activities.
- Participate when required in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and work instruction reviews.
- Monitor progress to keep the build schedule on track.
- Ensure materials are available to meet the production schedule.
- Identify and support continuous improvement projects (e.g., cost reduction and efficiency improvements).
- Assist with specification development for machinery and equipment.
- Adhere to and support compliance to ergonomic guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Support weekend and off-shift work as required.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in electrification assembly line/high voltage/electrical component handling/battery manufacturing required or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001or IATF 16949.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/SharePoint.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- PLEX system software knowledge required.
- Able to work in a flexible team environment.
