OVERVIEW
American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is an industry-leading battery metal and critical materials, technology development, and commercialization company. Our Pilot Plant in Sparks, Nevada, will be the first integrated implementation of our multi-step processing train for the full mechanical processing, physical separations, chemical extractions, and production of commercial-scale battery metals that will be resold back into the battery manufacturing supply chain to enact a low-cost, low environmental impact, and domestically sourced closed-loop circular economy.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Production Lead at ABTC plays a critical leadership role in helping manage daily operations on the production floor with a strong safety-first mentality. This role is pivotal in ensuring team adherence to safety protocols, fostering success, and supporting the needs of the production team.
In addition to operating and troubleshooting equipment and machinery, the Lead oversees key tasks such as housekeeping, material transport, machine alarm monitoring, and repairs. The Lead also monitors daily checks and team performance, providing guidance to drive continuous improvement.
This position is for C-shift or D-shift (Nights), reports directly to the Production Supervisor, and includes an 8% shift differential.

- Manage daily operations in designated production areas, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Train and develop new team members while facilitating cross-training for the team.
- Assist with daily group discussions to communicate production goals and align team focus.
- Monitor adherence to safety protocols and promptly escalate any concerns or issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment, respond to alarms, and ensure seamless production processes.
- Track and monitor progress toward production targets and goals, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure resources, including materials, equipment, and tools, are available to meet production requirements.
- Evaluate team performance, processes, and equipment to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Introduce and implement ideas to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct first-level investigations of any issues and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Escalate functional and process failures to appropriate support groups while remaining composed under pressure.
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and provide feedback and solutions to improve the overall operations.
- Experience in the assembly of electromechanical testing systems.
- Ability to assemble, fabricate, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment.
- Skilled in meticulous data collection and observation recording.
- Strong proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
- A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place.
- Experience with battery manufacturing/recycling.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to walk throughout the plant.
- Ability to bend at the waist.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to wear PPE which includes but not limited to the following: eye and face protection, hearing protections, respirators, and protective shoes and shoe coverings.
