We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controller to lead our accounting department and manage key HR functions across multiple locations in Minnesota and North Dakota. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, strategic planning, and compliance for the company.
Job Summary:
The Controller will oversee all accounting operations and certain HR functions, working closely with the General Manager and shareholders to drive financial performance and operational efficiency. This leadership position requires a strong background in agriculture, proven accounting expertise, and the ability to manage financial processes for a multi-location business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
- Manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and tax compliance for multiple locations.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure accuracy and mitigate risks.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to the General Manager and shareholders.
- Handle select HR functions, including benefits administration, compliance, and employee records.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to finance and HR.
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational and financial goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Background in agriculture is prefered.
- Experience in Agvance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting software.
- Proven experience managing multi-location operations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the General Manager and shareholders.
