Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage incoming calls using phone systems to assist patients with inquiries and appointment scheduling.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, ensuring accuracy for medical coding purposes.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while considering the needs of both patients and medical staff.
- Maintain organized office management practices to support a smooth workflow.
- Assist with medical collections as necessary, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Utilize knowledge of ICD-9 coding when processing patient records.
- Provide bilingual assistance when needed to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience in patient service or healthcare administration is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices, particularly ICD-9, is advantageous.
- Proficiency in office management and medical scheduling processes is highly desirable.
- Experience handling medical collections will be considered a plus.
