Systems Architect

Position Description
The Systems Architect designs and develops IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products / services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products / services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.
Education
Baccalaureate degree or comparable work experience.
Skills
Ability to align an organization’s technology strategy with its business mission, and processes using architectural models.
Ability to define and operate a framework for making decisions, managing stakeholder relationships, and identifying legitimate authority.
Ability to plan, estimate, and execute systems development work to time, budget and quality targets.
Ability to design systems and software to meet specified requirements and agreed systems architectures.
Experience managing the provision of technology-based services to meet defined organizational needs.
Ability to advise on the procurement or commissioning of products and services.
Excellent programming skills with an understanding of project cycles, software development environments, and source control techniques.
Experience
Minimum of 1-3 years as a Power Platform solution architect or 7-10 years as a senior consultant or developer is recommended.
Experience in customizing, integrating and developing solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365, including technical expertise in .NET languages (e.g., VB.NET, C#) and web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) for customizing Dynamics 365.
Proven experience in delivery management, including managing risks and providing technical assistance.
Experience leading code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions including the implementation of an architecture review board.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and experience with cloud-based development and APIs1.
Familiarity with multi-tenant and SaaS architecture.
Experience with front-end technologies including JavaScript, React, CSS, and HTML.
Solution architecture experience across functional and technical disciplines of Microsoft Power Platform, including facilitating design decisions based on recommended practices across development, configuration, integration, infrastructure, security, licensing, storage, and change management.
Specific Responsibilities
Develop the technical architecture for assigned value stream to ensure successful product delivery and compatibility of system components.
Manage the architectural roadmap for assigned domain, including release of new features and updates with minimal disruption.
Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into architecture plans for innovative digital solutions with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Evaluate product requirements, product vision, technical feasibility, and risks, identify system components required to meet user needs.
Prepare technical design documentation including workflow, integration strategy, and technical blueprint, and provide “reference architectures” and “baseline implementations” as needed.
Evaluate new technologies and lead Proof-Of-Concepts (POCs).
Lead the architectural review board.
Provide technical guidance on application development, systems architecture, APIs, micro-services, containers, databases, cloud infrastructures, cloud services, and software development best practices.
Work with teams to ensure products meet performance, availability, scalability, and security requirements.
Special Requirements
Saturday workdays 2-4 days per year.
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum.
Ability to sit for 6 hours per day.
Must be able to work onsite in Raleigh, NC at least two days / week.
