The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is currently seeking an Assessment Security Associate to join its Psychometrics team. The Assessment Security Associate is an integral role in the department and will be responsible for all areas of test security within ABIM. Key responsibilities include developing security plans, overseeing incident investigations, and coordinating with multiple departments and legal counsel on test security matters.
Reporting to the Vice President, Psychometrics, the Assessment Security Associate has the following primary responsibilities :
- Oversee test security analyses, processes, and develop test security strategies for Certification exams, Maintenance of Certification exams, and the Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment (LKA).
- Develop and maintain a test security plan in line with ABIM policies and procedures.
- Establish a formal escalation plan, develop a set of pre-authorized remedial actions, and develop an internal process for reviewing anomalous test taker behavior.
- Oversee and investigate all incidents in accordance with the test security plan.
- Develop, implement and systematize a mechanism for internal investigations of suspected test collusion, to include : running data forensics analyses, checking study materials and review courses, and monitoring online activity.
- Manage all resolution of incidents coordinating activities across several ABIM departments.
- Coordinate related work with ABIM legal counsel.
- Manage the review and evaluation of reports from outside vendors for test security services
- Monitor the ABIM tip line.
The ideal candidate has a master’s or doctoral degree, or an equivalent professional background, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate also has training in psychometrics and measurement principles with working knowledge of test security statistical forensics. They must have a proven proficiency with the MS suite of programs. Project management experience as well as experience with statistical analysis programs (e.g. SAS, R, SPSS) is a plus.
The successful incumbent will have excellent organizational, process management and planning skills, and must be able to both integrate and apply rapidly-evolving information to ongoing work. They must also have the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as demonstrate a consistent commitment to working effectively across the organization.
