We currently have a need for a Cash Payment Specialist to assist in the receipt and accounting of funds to American; to record payments to customer accounts and maintain account receivable records by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible to process the following, including follow up to ensure all details are attended to:
- Apply customer payments received via ACH and wire transfers, lockbox payments, credit card payment and desktop deposits.
- Accounts receivable charge backs
- Enter cash receipts and update account receivable ledgers accordingly
- Respond to inquiries from sales associates, customers and home office staff
- Create and maintain spreadsheets and text documents
- Initiate communication regarding short or over payment of invoice
- Apply credit memo invoices and create credit memos for short pay situations
- Fulfill statement and invoice reprint requests
All other tasks assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Required: High School diploma or the equivalent with two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Associate degree in accounting with six months or more related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, reports, correspondence and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Salary : $40,900 - $51,800
