Cyber Security Technician- Hybrid

We are looking for a Cyber Secruilty Technician to join our team! The primary purpose of this position is to perform day-to-day monitoring of IT security systems, assist with IT security projects as directed, and address security issues following established procedures.

This is a hybrid position that would require onsite presence at least 2-3 times a month at on home office in Glenwood, MN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Respond to alerts from security monitoring tools
• Monitor computer networks for security issues.
• Record and track security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
• Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
• Work with security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
• Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
• Review compliance with company standards for IT security.
• Assist IT Help Desk with tickets impacting security operations.
• Escalate problems (when required) to the Security Engineering team.
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
• Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
• Perform post-resolution follow ups with as required.
• Maintain Security Metrics

Education and/or Experience

Required: Minimum of one to three years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred: Associate of Science Degree AAS (2-year) Degree with a major; minimum of one to three years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technology and Competency Abilities

Experience with desktop operating systems.

Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities. In addition, working knowledge of the following programs is required:

• Windows 10
• AntiVirus
• AntiSpam
• Computer Network Fundamentals
• Computer Security Fundamentals

Demonstrated competency in the following areas:

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals or technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with vendors, customers, fellow employees, management, and Sales Associates of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
