Job Title: Behavioral Health – Front Desk Associate
Location: First Care Medical Clinic (Multiple Locations in North Carolina & South Carolina)
Join our dynamic team at First Care Medical Clinic, a well-established private practice with seven locations across North Carolina and South Carolina. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Behavioral Health – Front Desk Associate to help manage the scheduling of our behavioral health program through both in-person and virtual appointments. Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage scheduling for the behavioral health program, including in-person and virtual appointments, ensuring no scheduling conflicts and timely follow-up with patients as necessary.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all necessary documentation and forms are completed accurately.
- Verify insurance status for patients (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, etc.) and collect co-payment for services.
- Assist with answering phone calls and directing them as needed.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and refer any sensitive communications to the appropriate supervisor.
- Provide general support and coordination for the behavioral health program.
- Maintain high levels of organization while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Coordinate external referrals for behavioral health services, including psychiatric consultations and telehealth appointments.
- Communicate effectively with other staff within the clinic, including providers and front office teams.
- Communicate directly and professionally with patients, ensuring a positive clinic experience.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Provide support in managing clinic systems, including EMR and scheduling platforms.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and concerns, offering solutions or directing them to the appropriate resources.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinic processes to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in computer use and comfortable with various healthcare-related technologies.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to work independently while remaining a key contributor within a team.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality protocols.
