Position Summary
The Clean Power Institute (CPI) seeks a vice president (VP) of programs to design and drive the strategy and implementation of all programs. CPI's programming is focused on two pillars : workforce development in clean energy and strategic partnerships to advance clean energy growth. Embedded within both focus areas is diversity, equity, and inclusion.
As the 501c(3) affiliate of the American Clean Power Association (ACP), CPI incorporates the workforce priorities of industry partners into demand-driven programming. The VP is responsible for ensuring that programming is thoughtfully and strategically implemented to advance the most important priorities in building the clean energy workforce of the future, integrating input from various senior-level stakeholders across ACP, external stakeholders, and the workforce.
Reporting to the executive director of CPI, the VP, programs will build and manage a team of three employees (with additional growth expected), serving as an exemplar of CPI's mission, vision, and values. This role is based in Washington, DC. Remote candidates will be considered with high preference given to candidates who reside in DC.

Visioning, Strategic Planning & Program Implementation
- Lead the process for defining and iterating CPI programmatic priorities, building from existing initiatives and integrating principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging into the process and plan.
- Implement the program strategy, working with partners across a range of stakeholder groups including community colleges, health and safety industry leaders, ACP subject matter experts, and partner nonprofit organizations.
- Lead the development of a learning management system that structures and grows CPI's burgeoning certification and course offerings, ensuring it provides the highest-level satisfaction rates to external users.
- Design and implement the strategy to build grassroots' support for clean energy projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with individuals directly experiencing CPI's programming to ground-truth our strategies.
- Set goals and track progress to them, building a system to regularly reflect on successes and opportunities to improve.

We are a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This position may experience high-level work demands and independent decision-making under tight timelines. Occasional travel outside of the Washington, DC area for meetings or events required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. ACP will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
We reasonably believe that the base salary range for this position is $190,000- 235,000. At ACP, a wide range of factors are considered when making compensation decisions including and not limited to skill set, experience, training, education, knowledge, and other business and organizational needs. ACP offers 401k, PTO and sick leave, commuter benefits, wellness reimbursement, and professional development / tuition reimbursements for eligible employees.
