Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that production schedules are created then met efficiently, the quality of product meets company standards, and waste is minimized. This role involves managing people, maintaining equipment, and continuously improving production processes. The Production Manager will lead by example, setting and achieving quarterly goals with the team, while ensuring the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety standards.

- Oversee Production Schedule: Manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet deadlines and maximize efficiency.
- People Management: Lead, motivate, and manage production employees to meet performance goals, fostering a positive work environment. Ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Quality Control: Ensure production meets quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify defects or areas of improvement.
- Waste Control: Monitor and control waste levels in production, striving for continuous improvements to minimize unnecessary waste and optimize resources.
- Forecasting & Productivity: Work closely with the team to forecast productivity needs and plan accordingly, improving processes to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Goal Setting & Achievement: Assist employees in setting and achieving quarterly production goals. Set clear, measurable targets and lead by example in meeting those goals.
- Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of tools and production equipment to ensure all machinery is in optimal working condition.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all workers are using appropriate PPE during production and that safety standards are adhered to. Provide necessary instructions and training on safety protocols.
- Continuous Process Improvement: Actively seek and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve product quality.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and waste management techniques
- Experience with forecasting productivity and meeting deadlines
- Familiarity with tools, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance (including PPE).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., lean manufacturing, Kaizen)
