What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director, Content Strategy position at American College of Emergency Physicians?
The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) is the national medical society representing emergency medicine. Through continuing education, research, public education, and advocacy, ACEP advances emergency care on behalf of its 41,000 emergency physician members, and the more than 150 million Americans they treat on an annual basis.

This role is open to applicants local to the Dallas-Fort Worth area only; fully remote applicants will not be considered. For local employees, a hybrid schedule of in-office work and work-from-home is possible upon approval by the manager.
The Senior Director, Content Strategy leads content strategy and centralization across ACEP’s owned platforms, ensuring alignment with our brand, voice, and mission. This role will be responsible for designing and executing strategies with the aim of improving accessibility and quality of ACEP’s offerings across our sites, apps, and learning platforms.
Applicants should have familiarity with content management / marketing, as well as asset management technologies used to support the content lifecycle from creation to retirement.
Our ideal candidate has…
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a content strategy or management role, with at least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful content strategies across multiple platforms.
- A strong understanding of SEO, content categorization, content development, distribution, and measurement.
Other desired qualifications include familiarity with healthcare / emergency medicine issues, previous experience working for a non-profit organization, and a master’s degree in digital marketing or communications.
