Summary: Provides IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues while assisting users with technical needs. Additionally, will play a key role in maintaining A/V systems, including conference room technology, video conferencing, and live event support. With IT support as the core focus, complemented by significant A/V responsibilities, this position ensures reliable technology experiences across the organization.
This non-exempt position will report to the Senior Manager Technical Infrastructure in the Division of Information Technology. It is based in our Chicago office and will require being in the office 5 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Provides frontline IT support troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues while assisting users. This includes configuring workstations, resolving technical problems, and documenting solutions for efficiency.
- In addition to IT duties, the role maintains and supports A/V systems, including video conferencing tools, projectors, and event setups. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, user training, and ensuring smooth operation of multimedia technologies.es.
- Assists with system administration, helping manage servers, user accounts, network security, and software updates. Collaboration with IT teams ensures infrastructure stability and continuous technology improvements.
- Technology training and documentation. Creation of user guides, training sessions, and best practice materials to enhance staff understanding of IT and A/V systems.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Capacity for continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar IT/AV support role, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Experience with Windows, macOS, video conferencing platforms, and A/V systems is essential.
- Basic networking, Active Directory, and system administration knowledge is required
- ITIL Foundation v.4 certification or the ability to acquire one within six months of employment is required. Microsoft 365 certifications are a plus.
- Strong working knowledge in an environment that uses Microsoft products and platforms extensively (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Teams).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills are key for user support.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, operating as a strong team partner.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems, remote tools, and asset management.
