ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Performing accurate documentation of water monitoring quality and quantity information, while applying newly learned traits to applicable field tasks.
- Safely loading, unloading and operating an ATV
- Safely operating a pickup truck on and off public roadways
- Communicating effectively and appropriately
- Documenting field sampling and inspection results through making entries in written logs and chain of custody forms
- Communicating sampling and inspection results to supervisor in oral and written forms.
- Performing actions within an appropriate and reasonable time period
- Operate company vehicles from various job sites and conduct daily vehicle inspections
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of environmental experience is preferred, not required
Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Employee must clearly, effectively, and appropriately communicate in written, electronic and verbal forms
- Prior to start date, candidate must possess appropriate MSHA surface training
- Compliance with company policies, procedures and safety standard
- Must perform in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
- Must be capable of effectively, efficiently and accurately performing duties
- Demonstrates strong ability to learn and apply new traits to assigned tasks
- Capable of understanding and using monitoring and sampling equipment
- Ability to understand and follow water-monitoring protocol
- Possessing initiative to follow through, overcome obstacles, and meet objectives
- Observant for problems with water management diversions and structures
- Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
- Must be able to successfully complete industry approved training courses
- Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
- Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule on a 24/7 basis (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
- Traverse uneven, rocky, wet, slippery, muddy terrain (frozen, icy surfaces in winter).
- Climb on hillsides, in wooded areas and on embankment side slopes safely
- Load/unload ATV from back of pickup truck
- Climb in and out of automotive vehicles and climb on and off ATV safely
- Carry and utilize all water chemical treatments
- Safety Operate an ATV
- Safely operate a company vehicle
- Must be capable of safely working in extreme hot and cold conditions and wet, rainy conditions
- Must be capable of working in and around active mining areas and with industrial equipment
- Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
- Ability to push/pull as needed
- Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
- Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50 pounds as needed
