ACE is adding a Design Manager to lead the design and preconstruction phase of collaborative delivery water and wastewater treatment projects as well as the strategic pursuits of these opportunities. This role ensures seamless coordination between design and construction teams, driving efficient project execution and cost-effective solutions. In addition to overseeing preconstruction efforts, this position plays a critical role in business development, securing collaborative delivery contracts, and fostering relationships with industry partners.

You will look to master your leadership responsibilities and business development skillset, leading ACE in securing and delivering the next level of collaborative delivery water and wastewater treatment projects in the DMV and beyond.
On any given day, you’ll be working with a diverse group of stakeholders in the pursuit and execution of cutting edge collaborative delivery projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead collaborative project delivery from initial proposal through preconstruction, facilitating design workshops and constructability reviews.
- Implement best practices for alternative project delivery, optimizing efficiency and risk mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with owners, engineers, and subcontractors to refine project scopes and support contract negotiations.
Business Development & Strategy
- Identify and pursue opportunities in the collaborative delivery market, positioning ACE for success.
- Develop and manage qualification statements, proposals, and interview presentations to secure new projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, engineering partners, and subcontractors.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Minimum eight years of experience in engineering, business development, estimating, or project management within water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of design-build, CMAR, and integrated project delivery methods.
- Proven ability to lead high-collaboration projects, develop winning proposals, and drive innovation.
