Position Summary :
The part-time Grant Writer is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing grant programs for the Association. This individual will take the lead writing grant proposals and coordinating the grant application process in collaboration with relevant staff. The ideal candidate is locally based, highly organized and has a proven track record of securing federal, state and local funding. The Association has a history of working with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Department of Justice, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute of Corrections, and private organizations.
Essential Functions :
Grant Writing and Management
- Research and identify new grant or contract opportunities from private foundations, local governments, and federal agencies.
- Write compelling, accurate, and tailored grant or contract proposals that align with funder priorities.
- Oversee multiple grants in process at a time, managing deadlines, reporting requirements, and deliverables.
- Serve as the project manager for grant applications, collaborating with staff from relevant departments to ensure timely submission of materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
