American Cruise Lines, the largest USA flagged cruise line in the United States, is looking to add Housekeeping Managers to our shipboard team for our 2025 season. American Cruise Lines only operates within the United States and has no more than 200 passenger vessels that create a one-of-a-kind small ship experience. With newly constructed vessels being added to our fleet, it is a great opportunity to join our shipboard management team.
As the Housekeeping Manager with American Cruise Lines, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our ship’s cleanliness, maintaining brand standards, and exceeding guest expectations in the staterooms as well as the public areas. Other responsibilities include training and coaching the housekeeping team, room inspections, as well as handling any customer service requests. This is a guest facing position, in which you will be continually interacting with guests during their cruise. This position is a great way to build on a foundation in hospitality with option to grow within the management team onboard. We want exceptional Housekeeper Managers with an eye for detail in our passenger cabins as well as the beautiful public areas throughout our ships.

Responsibilities:
- Establish and monitor cleanliness standards of performance for all housekeepers.
- Coach and mentor housekeeping staff.
- Plans and executes the daily training sessions based on cleanliness deficiencies observed & guest feedback.
- Manages dining stewards’ schedule and approves timecards.
- Regularly clean, organize, sanitize, and maintain all areas of the ship.
- Provides leadership and serves as a role model for Housekeeping Stewards.
- Maintain a genuine concern for our guests by supporting their experience and satisfaction.
- Respond to guest requests in a timely manner.
- Maintains inventory of hotel & cleaning supplies and place orders in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate & plans board berthing assignments.
- Oversees new Housekeeping Stewards shipboard orientation.
- Communicate & prepare plan for turnaround days with Officers & crew.
- Manage laundry room operations.
- Serve as bartender during cocktail hour & setup materials.
- Participates in weekly sales goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or Business field (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Must have past hotel experience.
- Team player who sets a positive example for others.
- Excellent guest service skills with the capability to handle guest concerns.
- Ability to empower team to provide excellent customer service.
- Willingness to work long days, every day, for extended periods of time.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to travel.
- US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test.
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Work Schedule:
- 7 Days per week while onboard the ship.
- 6 to 8 weeks working and living onboard the ship.
- 1 to 2 weeks shore leave vacation.
