Job Summary
The Laser Machine Assistant will work closely with the Laser Machine Operator. They will assist with loading and unloading the machines, prepping materials, removing scrap, etc.
Summary of essential Job functions
- Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
- Knowledge of different types of materials in the shop
- Lift raw materials, usually with a hoist or forklift. Pull parts when needed.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
- Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
- This position is very active and requires lifting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
Summary of secondary Job functions
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications required
- High School Diploma or equivalent education experience
- Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, and Brass
- Forklift operation experience
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated, able to work as part of a team with a positive attitude
- Safety conscience
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking
