Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
- Audit employee time data submitted by various offices, interacting with Dental Office Managers as needed to verify data and resolve discrepancies.
- Process payroll in a multi-state corporate environment, ensuring accuracy in tax withholdings and employee deductions.
- Assist with balancing payroll accounts, including resolving payroll discrepancies and ensuring accurate financial records.
- Analyze and respond to inquiries from employees regarding paycheck amounts, deductions, leave accruals, direct deposit, and other payroll-related concerns.
- Research and gather required documents to set up tax accounts in new states where companies operate.
- Payroll reconciliation including journal entry creation and entering into Sage Intaact to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure seamless integration of payroll data into the general ledger.
- Assist with preparing month-end and year-end financial reporting as related to payroll.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience in a large, multi-state environment with a focus on accounting integration.
- Strong background in accounting, including general ledger management and journal entry preparation for payroll.
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred, or similar accounting software.
- Proven ability to complete work accurately, with attention to detail, and in compliance with accounting principles.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks under tight deadlines, maintaining high standards of accuracy and organization.
- Strong communication skills and proven customer service abilities, both internally and externally.
- A minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
