Job Summary
As a key resource with systemwide responsibilities, this position is instrumental in siting AEP Transmission projects, organizational management, and implementing best practices. This role coordinates the siting efforts and activities of AEP Transmission, reporting to the Director, Siting and Project Outreach. The successful candidate will support Systemwide siting efforts, build and maintain relationships with federal/state/local environmental communities, supervise region siting team members, and provide regulatory support, including testimony, as a Transmission siting witness for regulatory proceedings.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop strategies and best practices to achieve line routing success.
- Develop policies, practices, and standards for siting and ensure projects are performed in accordance with regulations and procedures as required by federal, state, or local regulatory agencies.
- Provide oversight of outsourcing activities related to siting/environmental/permitting.
- Collaborate closely with Environmental Services, Project Management, Outreach, and Right of Way, and Engineering on all aspects of projects.
- Manage project siting specialists and project workflow systemwide for competitive and non-competitive projects.
- Foster strategic relationships and initiatives that demonstrate AEP's values when interfacing with internal and external parties concerning siting practices.
