We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to manage and maintain 50-100 RDT&E servers and network users in a dynamic, mission-critical environment. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with expertise in system administration, security compliance, and network operations.
Responsibilities: Oversee the maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems to ensure seamless operations. Proactively monitor and analyze system logs to identify and resolve potential issues. Provide dedicated customer support and technical assistance for supported systems. Manage user accounts, including provisioning, modifications, and access control. Maintain and enforce configuration control processes for system modifications and additions.
Support cybersecurity initiatives, including system patching, POA&M reviews, and accreditation efforts. Assist with IA (Information Assurance) data calls and compliance activities. Implement and maintain security best practices using tools such as Nessus, Security Center, and Snort. Develop and execute automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and Python. Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security policies. Ensure compliance with DOD 8570.01-M Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) requirements.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in Computer Science or a Relevant Technical Discipline.
Allowable Substitutions: Associate degree from an accredited institution as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in a technical field four (4) additional years of IT experience. Or eight (8) additional years of IT experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role. Hands-on experience with databases (SQL Server, MySQL), networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management. Strong understanding of system security, vulnerability assessments, and data backup/recovery.
Expertise in PowerShell, Bash, and Python scripting for automation. Proven ability to configure and manage GPOs (Group Policy Objects).
Other: Must meet DOD 8570.01-M Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) requirements. A Security certification (or equivalent) and operating system-specific training is essential. An Active TS (Top Secret) Clearance is required.
Wage Range Information: This full-time position’s wage range is $100K - $120K (salary) depending on experience and qualifications.
