Jersey Elevator is part of American Elevator Group (AEG), the largest independent elevator service company in North America, consisting of a collection of well-established elevator service companies operating throughout the United States. Backed by Arcline Investment Management, AEG has a significant footprint in the elevator industry and is rapidly growing. Due to growth, we are looking for a Dispatcher to work out of the Aberdeen, NJ office to help us continue providing our customers with the best services possible.
Summary:
The Dispatcher will coordinate field activities and staff by delivering assignments, instructions, and alerts via the organizations communications network.
Responsibilities:
- Answers incoming calls and communications; determine and assign the priority level of a call.
- Coordinates response and delivery of received information to field staff.
- Dispatches and deploys staff, vehicles, and/or units based on communications received. Provide instructions before the arrival of the mechanic.
- Adeptly uses multi-line telephone system and other communications methods and networks.
- Translating information to the appropriate codes.
- Performing emergency dispatch and crisis intervention services for entrapments.
- Respond to a wide array of emergency and non-emergency complaints and services.
- Asking questions and determining the caller situation via interpretation, analyses, and anticipation.
- Assisting the mechanics in completed their time tickets in the system.
- Enter and update information in computer databases.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Hazards:
- This job operates in a general office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Special Physical Demands:
- This is a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files up-to fifteen pounds, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.

- Significant contact with mechanics and field staff
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of related experience required.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to execute directions accurately and with speed.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and diligence.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.
- Ability to operate or to quickly learn a variety of communications systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, a must.
