Testing Specialist
Unitec is part of American Elevator Group (AEG), North America's largest independent elevator service company. AEG consists of well-established elevator service companies operating across the United States. Backed by Arcline Investment Management, AEG has a significant footprint in the elevator industry and is rapidly growing. Unitec seeks an experienced Testing Specialist for its Long Island City (LIC) location.
The Testing Specialist will ensure that all elevator departments and customers are informed of scheduled tests, including all CAT 1, CAT 5, and periodic inspections, and that all tests are scheduled promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and maintain all required testing and inspections and assign them to proper mechanics.
- Support associates with all relevant upcoming tests and inspections.
- Outsource tests with testing vendors and elevator consultants.
- Assign all tests to field staff and create service activities via FIELDBOSS.
- Review the ELV3 report and submit it to the Department of Buildings (DOB).
- Review the customer’s contract and schedule appropriate tests for the elevator in service.
- Establish an audit program for regular testing of compliance regulations.
- Liaison with the Department of Buildings (DOB) or jurisdictional authorities for all elevator compliance-related issues.
- Establish a scheduling program to meet Category 1 and Category 5 testing requirements.
- Regularly prepare a range of compliance open deficiency reports for internal audits.
- Partner with management to review elevator testing through to completion.
- Follow up with the customer on unsigned testing proposals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Hazards:
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing as necessary.
Special Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
Work Contact Group:
- Moderate contact with regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
- An associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Auditing, or a related field is required. A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an audit or compliance role, preferably in the Elevator Industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
