POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate II, Financial Operations works closely with the Associate Director II, Financial Operations on the identification of deposits into investment accounts (gifts) associated with existing and new Donor Advised Funds. This individual is responsible for monitoring investment account transactions, identifying specific deposits or transfers that are donations (gifts) to the Donor Advised Fund, processing those gifts using AEF’s internal accounting software, and generating and sending a gift receipt letter. This position works under close supervision, but additional responsibilities may be assigned with demonstrated skill.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to an established workflow and procedure to ensure gifts are properly processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Confirm and process new gifts to the Donor Advised Fund.
- Prepare and send the gift receipt letter to acknowledge gifts to Donor Advised Funds.
- Remove and process unposted gifts and record in general ledger.
- Export transaction data from the system, evaluation, and upload gifts for approval.
- Assist in generating weekly reports during review of accounts to conduct gift pulls and reconciliation preparation.
- Record and complete gift adjustments or reversals that may have occurred due to error.
- Monitor and update data in AEFs financial management system.
- Perform other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as may be occasionally required by the Associate Director II, Financial Operations.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred
- 3 or more years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field
- Basic understanding of personal finance and investment industries preferred
- Organized with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks and projects effectively and consistently and set and meet delivery expectations
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a professional environment with attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness and ethical conduct
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others inside and outside the organization, active and engaged in work and organization’s success
