AET is hiring an experienced Field Technician for the Sioux Falls, SD office.
The Field Technician 3 candidate must have ACI Field Concrete Testing Grade I Certification, and a minimum of 5 years of experience of field work. DOT Certification in Soils, Aggregates and Asphalt is a plus. The Field Technician 3 will assist and follow the direction of project managers, engineers, and scientists to complete projects. Work assignments may include field monitoring, sample collection, information gathering, data management, report drafting, and computer related activities such as spreadsheets and word processing.
Field and Laboratory Work :
- Conduct field, laboratory, and office activities in a manner consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, along with AETs QA and Health and Safety Policies, to promote the safety and protection of employees, clients, and the public.
- Perform laboratory testing of construction materials, including soils, concrete, masonry, bituminous and reinforcing steel.
- Assist in training of less experienced personnel in routine field work / documentation.
- Conduct soil laboratory tests according to QA procedures.
- Log / classify soil samples in laboratory or fieldwork, as needed.
- Project Management
- Maintain project file and job status.
- Assist with developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures for our Quality Assurance Program (QAP) in your areas of expertise.
- Assist with report preparation and review.
- Establish, maintain, and build business relationships with clients.
- Directly or indirectly supervise engineering and technical personnel within area of assignment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
A minimum of 5 years of related engineering technician experience with quality control testing of construction materials required.
ACI concrete Field I certification required,
DOT certifications for Soils and Aggregates required.
DOT certification for Asphalt preferred.
A two-year or technical degree in a related field preferred.

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $27.02-$33.80 per hour based on skill set and experience. The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
