American English College (www.aec.edu) – is looking for a passionate and motivated in-person Business English Instructor to join our vibrant team of educators.
You'll work with bright and driven international students and young professionals, helping them build the communication skills and confidence needed to succeed in real-world business settings. Your mission is to bring the classroom to life through engaging lessons, real-world projects, and dynamic activities that align with AEC’s learning objectives and standards.
Key Details:
- Dates: July 7–24, 2025 (Training required prior to start)
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Pay: $40/hour (includes prep and training hours)
What You’ll Do:
- Teach a full-day Business English course to international young adults and professionals (ages 21 )
- Create a classroom environment that is communicative, student-centered, and project-driven
- Use real-world scenarios, workplace simulations, and roleplays to teach core business communication skills
- Guide students through weekly themes like Personal Branding, Executive Presence, Communication in U.S. Professional Culture, and Conflict Resolution
- Lead engaging activities like networking simulations, pitch presentations, and feedback exercises
- Debrief with students after corporate site visits
- Build and scaffold lessons aligned with course objectives
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse student needs and fluency levels
- Collaborate with AEC staff and follow a structured yet flexible curriculum
Requirements*:
- Strong experience and background working with ESL learners, specifically adults
- Able to create a classroom environment that is student-centered, with a communicative focus, and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Employment instructional methods that are most appropriate for meeting the learning objectives
- Ability to build and execute a lesson plan that follows the communicative method (PPP)
- Experience and knowledge of bringing outside materials and resources to help scaffold learning
- Experience bringing lessons to life with interesting but objective-driven activities
- Understand student needs and adjust lessons/approach accordingly
- Have taught 50-minute to 75-minute class blocks
