Objectives of this role
We are seeking a reliable and organized Material Handler to join our fabrication team. The Material Handler will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of raw materials, components, and finished products within the fabrication facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a smooth production flow by organizing materials, preparing orders, and ensuring that inventory levels are accurate and up to date.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport raw materials, components, and finished goods to designated areas within the facility.
- Load and unload delivery trucks, ensuring materials are properly stored and easily accessible.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting materials for damage or discrepancies; report any issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Organize materials in the warehouse or fabrication area to ensure easy retrieval and efficient workflow.
- Prepare and stage materials for fabrication processes and ensure that production teams have the necessary components available when needed.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure all materials are stored in compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and report discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor or Inventory Manager.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping and cleaning areas around material storage.
- Assist with periodic cycle counts and year-end inventory procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments, including production and shipping, to ensure materials are available and ready on time.
- Ensure all safety procedures and guidelines are followed when handling materials.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
