Field Service Technician
American Equipment, LLC is seeking a field service technician with experience in heavy construction equipment service and repair.
Essential Duties
- Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment in field out of a service truck
- Ability to work alone in the field safely and unsupervised
- Provide own tools
- Maintain, clean, and organize service truck
- Communicate with parts department regarding parts orders as needed
- Document notes on service work order: diagnostic, repair, etc.
- Maintain a professional and proper behavior
- Flexible work hours, and willingness to work overtime
- Interact with customers
Qualifications:
- Experience in heavy equipment repair
- Ability to read and understand parts catalogs, service manuals and schematics
- Excellent customer service skills
- Mechanical aptitude and computer skills needed
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Good communication skills to communicate with customers, technicians, staff and co-workers; verbally, phone, text and e-mail.
- High school diploma or (GED) equivalent
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate a service vehicle (CDL not necessary, but a plus)
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Minimum 3-5 years experience
- Familiarity with Cat SIS and ET a plus
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing for long periods of time, extending and elevating arms into different positions, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing 75 pounds or more
