GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB :

The Technical Analyst for Data Analytics supports enterprise-wide data analytics and reporting activities. They partner with individual business units to define business needs and gather requirements that will be used to build data analytics solutions. This experienced individual contributor collaborates with business and technical teams and utilizes their experience working with data platforms and gathering requirements for data analytics platforms.

Position sits in West Des Moines and will work an onsite hybrid schedule

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Researches, analyzes, validates and documents business data requirements for integrating business data sources into data analytics solutions

Facilitates meetings with technical and non-technical staff to clarify data requirements and acquire business approval for all data requirements.

Conducts data profiling and other analyses to determine the efficacy of available data sources.

Maintains moderate knowledge of data lake and warehouse data structure design, definitions, capabilities, SQL, processes and data integrity constraint.

Works with Data Analytics and Data Management teams to onboard new sources of data.

Performs other related work as assigned.

General Description of Indirect Reports (2 and 3-downs ) : None

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor's degree in MIS, Information technology, business analytics, computer science, or related field of study; plus three(3) or more years of progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent combination of education and / or experience. Three (3) or more years of experience writing complex SQL queries

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS : None

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake (preferred), Google Big Query, Amazon Redshift, Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent

Strong analytical skills, research capabilities and problem-solving skills.

Strong customer service orientation and ability to build strong relationships across the Business

Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings to key stakeholders

Strong organizational and planning skills

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and documentation

Mathematical skills and strong attention to detail.

Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and other outside third parties.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical / operational procedures.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
