This opportunity is full-time during first shift.
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Days, Monday through Friday
Hours: 8:00AM to 4:30PM

In this role, you will:
- In conjunction with the department director, accountabilities/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Weekly schedules to assign tasks
- Bi-weekly payroll
- Monitoring workflow to ensure timely release of work
- Provide leadership and support to Molecular personnel. Monitor, counsel, and recommend discipline of Molecular employees to meet productivity goals and quality patient results.
- Available to provide consultation (in person, telephone or email) to resolve technical problems in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Investigates technical problems and takes corrective action.
- Oversees staffing and training of personnel, participating in the interviewing, hiring, and training processes, as appropriate.
- Complete assigned performance appraisals for Molecular employees as applicable.
- Communicate effectively with clients, physicians and employees to resolve client concerns, testing problems, exchange information, secure cooperation and/or coordinate activities to meet the goals of AEL and ensure delivery of quality patient results.
- Oversee the Quality Assurance/Quality Control process for the department.
- Oversee LIS data entry and reporting.
- Maintain departmental inventory including ensuring staff order consumables in a timely fashion and building/maintaining positive relationships with vendors.
- Review departmental policies and procedures and ensure they are properly maintained and executed.
- Evaluate processes and protocols for efficiency making recommendations for improvements.
- Work with director to maintain efficient operation of the department by implementing efficient resource management including supply, operations and personnel management to meet the financial goals of the department.
- Implement validation processes and new test initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory bodies.
- Perform patient sample testing to ensure timely and accurate reporting (typically 60-80% of hours worked, as workflow requires).
All you need is:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and completion of an AMA approved program of Medical Technology
- Tennessee Medical Technology license and Tennessee Laboratory Supervisor- General License required in addition to ASCP eligible or equivalent.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under time constraints, without close supervision.
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures as normally acquired through a minimum of four (4) years medical technology experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years microbiology diagnostics experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers/computer software with regards to MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel
