What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Technician position at American Event Services?
Purpose: To paint HVAC equipment and replacement parts.
Duties and Responsibilities: Paint Technicians are responsible for prepping equipment and/or replacement parts for painting and applying paint to the equipment. Prepping can include sanding, taping, metal working, etc. Painters will also be responsible for the proper disposal of any chemical/paint waste. The proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, such as safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, and any other PPE is required when necessary. Painters will be required to wear all paint-related PPE during a job, i.e., respirators, paint suits, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Knowledge of paint safety and willingness to follow all safety/PPE policies and procedures
· Exceptional attention to detail and quality control
· Basic math skills
· Time management skills
· Ability to perform multiple tasks at once
· Knowledge of paint, thinners, and painting equipment
· Knowledge of paint mixing and the use of mixing cups
· Knowledge and ability to sand/prep parts for paint
· Ability to work independently and learn on the job
· Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination
· Metal working or body shop skills for repair projects
Education:
· HS diploma or GED
Experience:
· Previous painting experience in an Industrial environment is preferred
Working Conditions:
· 8 hour workdays (7am-4pm) with one hour lunch break
· May require overtime and weekend work
· Physical lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, climbing, stooping possible
· Paint booth operations; Special PPE required

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
